Well no one got last week's picture; too obscure a detail I suppose, although if you work in Two Union Square you probably look at it every day. The picture is detail over one of the entrances to the ACT Theater (formerly A Contemporary Theater) and shows a carved eagle, a legacy of the building's former name: Eagles Auditorium.
The Fraternal Order Of Eagles (F.O.E.) was founded in Seattle, and this building housed the very first chapter (aerie) of that fraternal and charitable organization. Interestingly, it was founded by theater owners.
