Do Unions Do Any Good?
~ Certainly not! Why, who would want any of these things?
The vigorous negotiation of contracts between parties is an essential trait of a free market economy. Whether written or implicit, the relationship between employee and employer is a contract. The best contract, the most efficient market outcome, is the result of tough compromises between two sides. Management is organized de facto—they all act in concert; labor should be organized too.
Whether for fairness or free-market optimality, support strong unions.
